I grew up in the country in Northern Indiana. A young Amish boy, with a dream to play music. I was 17 years old when I bought my first red Fender electric guitar. However, I never gained enough confidence to learn how to play so there it was collecting dust. In my youth years I went down a path of life that led me down some dark times. Although music was a big part of my life at this time, it was not the music that glorified God's name.

I met Janene when we were in our early 20s and decided it was time to turn my life around. It was then that I realized music can lead you down some dark areas in life, but it can also lift you out of the darkest. It was at this time that I started listening to inspiring music by a local artist and Christian radio. As I was in the process of giving my life to God and preparing for my marriage, the fire to play music came back. I started taking guitar lessons on my own and soon began helping lead worship at church. At this point music became my connection to God and the Holy Spirit. During this time, Janene and I had already given birth to Bryson who is now 9 and Haizel who is now 5.

Six years into our marriage Janene was pregnant with our third child Gemma who is now 2. During her pregnancy she became sick of what was thought to be pneumonia. However, the day after Gemma was born, February 14th, 2021, we were devastated with the news that was brought to our attention. We were told Janene was battling what was already stage 4 lung cancer. These times were the most challenging moments I have ever imagined facing. However, it was also through this time that God was more present in our lives than I ever imagined. As the community rallied around us in prayer and continued providing the most loving support, we witness countless miracles and God's continued grace. It was also during this time that music spoke loudly to both of us. I would often listen to music to calm my anxiety and reconnect was God when I felt everything was in shambles.

Through Janene’s cancer Journey, I went through a lot of challenging moments. I spent 7 months in a whirlwind Doctors appointment, referrals, sleepless nights, studying the disease itself, researching options, and taking care of the one I loved the most in my life. Surrounded by family and friends we walked this Journey of ups and downs. Fighting to stay positive, be strong for the kids and find some hope in God himself. It was during this journey I started writing my emotions in songs. As my faith was tested my trust in God grew. I was also deeply encouraged by other people’s testimonies and the hope they provided.

In September of 2021, God called Janene home after a long hard fight with cancer. Weeks and months Following her passing I struggled in many areas. I struggled with losing the love of my life and being left alone with three children. Although I had endless support from those around me, the loneliness and heartbreak was unbearable at times. It was during this time that I made a choice, a choice to choose life over sorrow. After hitting some lows, I decided it was time to find my identity and new purpose with the life God chose for me.

I started picking up my guitar and singing again, which led to more writing. It was also during this time that Conrad Fisher reached out to me and offered his assistance to record some songs. Beings’ music from a lot of local artists inspired me and encouraged me through the darkest times of my life. I knew I had to share the story of the how God carried me through these hardships, in hopes to bring encouragement and glorify God's name.

This album and whatever journey that is ahead of me, is a testimony to the grace God has for us. No matter the valleys that we travel through in this life’s journey, he will always carry us through and lead the way.

I would also like to add some encouraging and exciting news! In my journey of finding my new identity and purpose in life I met a lovely lady by the name of Glenda. Glenda and I are currently engaged and set to be married March 11th, 2023! Although I never imagined ever finding true love again, God had other plans in store for me and my children. Glenda has been a huge support in this journey as well as this album. Glenda also brings to our relationship a 2-year-old son, Cameron. This will make us the family of 6! We are excited to start this journey in our lives and look forward to the plans God has in store for our family.
